LAURA ZENG: Hi, everyone. My name is Laura Zeng. I'm 21 years old. And I'm a rhythmic gymnast. That's rhythmic, not artistic gymnastics, which it's commonly confused with.

Rhythmic is one of the only remaining female-only Olympic sports. And it's a combination of dance, acrobatics, and equipment handling. And my past accomplishments include winning the bronze medal at the 2014 Youth Olympic games, becoming the 2015 Pan American games all-around national all-around champion, and time the highest ever finished for an American at the Olympics in my sport in Rio 2016.

Of course, in Tokyo, I hope to better that finish and make history. Last year we thought that we were going to be 100 days out. And then the pandemic happened. And so this time around it's something very different.

But the most important thing is that Tokyo is still happening. And so just that benchmark coming around is really exciting, knowing that it's in our sights, it's coming, and it's something that is finally an accumulation of all the hard work over the years.
