Lady Hatchets defeat MV Wildcats

Dec. 18—Lady Hatchets improve to 12-3 overall and 5-0 in conference play by defeating Mt. Vernon on Saturday, 60-16.

The Lady Hatchets were led in scoring by Katie Reed with 17 points and seven rebounds, Shay Hawk 10 points and five deflections, Kyra Schuckman six points, Aubrey Frank five points, four assists, and 11 deflections, Hayleigh Cummins 5 points, Kenna Garland four points, Olivia Gilley four points and five rebounds, Ella Knepp three points, London Gilley two points and three assists, Madi Dalton two points and Norah Kate McMurray with two points.

"Another team win, where the scoring is balanced, we had 16 team assists, 32 deflections. Liv and Katie are really running the floor well and Aubrey did a great job of turning up the defensive pressure to spark our transition offense. It is great to be able to get 11 players in the scoring column and 14 players varsity minutes."

In the Jv game, the Lady Hatchets defeated Mt. Verenon 40-22 Ella Knepp and Kyra Schuckman each had 11 points to lead the Lady Hatchets. Norah Kate McMurray, London Gilley, and Maliyah Thorne each had six points.
