Kyrie Irving on vaccine mandates: ‘Biggest violation of human rights’
After finding himself at the center of the national discourse surrounding vaccine mandates last season, Kyrie Irving sounded off on what he calls one of the biggest human rights violations in history on Twitter.
Last season Irving missed out on the majority of the season because of vaccine mandates in New York City. The Nets initially opted to make Irving ineligible for all games – even away games in which he was cleared to play – before relenting and allowing Irving back on the court.
Earlier this week it was confirmed that the Canadian government will be lifting the mandate for entry by the end of September, essentially allowing Irving to play the Raptors again.
However, Irving took to Twitter to discuss the vaccine mandate, which he passionately disagreed with.
If I can work and be unvaccinated, then all of my brothers and sisters who are also unvaccinated should be able to do the same, without being discriminated against, vilified, or fired. ♾🤞🏾
This enforced Vaccine/Pandemic is one the biggest violations of HUMAN RIGHTS in history.

Irving will be returning to the Nets roster in hopes to lead the team to a dominant season.
