Kyler Murray has no timetable for his return

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray said on a recent episode of “Flight Plan” that his goal is to make it back from his torn ACL by Week 1.

That might be the goal, but he doesn’t know when his return will actually be.

He started training camp on PUP, which means he cannot practice until off the list. If he remains on PUP when roster cuts are made, he must miss at least four games of the regular season.

How close is he to doing actual football work?

“I have no answer for you,” he told reporters Saturday. “I’m taking it one day at a time. I don’t have a timetable or whatever, but just taking it one day at a time.”

He knows there is a balance for his desire to return. He doesn’t want to hurt himself and he doesn’t want to hurt the team by coming back too early.

“The advice I’ve gotten from a lot of people around me is, obviously, to go when you are ready,” he explained. “Don’t feel pressured to come back because of this situation or that situation. I feel when that time comes, I’ll know.”
