Kyle Schwarber postseason home runs: Where the former Middletown standout ranks

Kyle Schwarber's solo home run for the Philadelphia Phillies in the top of the 6th inning of Game 5 of the National League Championship Series against the Arizona Diamondbacks was his fifth HR of the 2023 NLCS, and the former Middletown High School standout's 20th career postseason homer.

It was his 11th homer in two postseasons with the Phillies. He's hit the most home runs of any player in NLCS history.

Schwarber's Game 4 blast gave him more playoff home runs than any left-handed hitter in postseason history.

Nelson Cruz holds the record for most homers in an LCS with six in the 2011 ALCS. Schwarber is tied with Corey Seager (2020) for most HRs in an NLCS with five.

Schwarber's 19th career playoff HR broke Reggie Jackson's mark for the most by a left-handed hitter in postseason history.

Schwarber is tied for 4th overall among MLB's postseason HR leaders, with Derek Jeter.

Only Manny Ramirez (29), Jose Altuve (24) and Bernie Williams (22) have had more.

Schwarber has hit more than half of his 20 postseason HRs as a Phillie, in last year's playoffs and this year's.

Schwarber hit six HRs for Philadelphia during the 2022 postseason, three in the NLCS against the San Diego Padres and three in the World Series against the Houston Astros.

He homered three times for the Boston Red Sox during the 2021 postseason.

The rest of his playoff homers came as a Chicago Cub, five during the 2015 postseason and one in the 2017 NLCS.

Of his nine Major League Baseball seasons, Schwarber has only seen his team not make the postseason once (2019 Cubs).

Surprisingly, Schwarber hadn't had a multi-homer game in the postseason before Tuesday night in Philly.

Schwarber hit a solo home run in his second postseason at-bat.

Schwarber's first playoff homer helped the Cubs defeat the Pirates in the 2015 NL Wild Card Game.

Schwarber hit five homers during the 2015 playoffs, including the famous "Schwarboard" homer during Game 4 of the NLDS against the St. Louis Cardinals.

The ball landed on top of the right field video board, and was kept there on display for some time. A bobblehead was made.

One of Schwarber's six 2022 postseason homers was absolutely hammered.

Schwarber's homer in the 6th inning against the Padres in Game 1 of the NLCS was hit into the second deck of right field in Petco Park.

It came off his bat at 119.7 mph, making it the hardest-hit postseason homer in the Statcast era (since 2015).

It traveled a projected 488 feet.

Schwarber's 20 postseason homers have come against nine different teams.

Schwarber has hit playoff HRs against the Pirates, Cardinals, Mets, Dodgers, Yankees, Rays, Astros, Padres and Diamondbacks.

His total has come in just 255 career postseason plate appearances.
