Knicks vs. Nets: How to bet on the first matchup of this Atlantic Division contest

It's a cross borough battle when the Nets (13-13, 4th in Atlantic) host the Knicks on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Barclays Center.

The Knicks are wrapping up a five-game road trip as they're 2-2 so far with a 114-109 victory over the Lakers on Monday and a 139-122 win against the Suns where Jalen Brunson recorded a career-high 50 points.

Brooklyn is trying to end a three-game losing streak as the team went 1-4 over its last five games on the road.

This the first meeting of these Atlantic Division foes this season as they split the four games in the regular season a year ago.

Here's our betting advice ahead of tomorrow's night contest in Brooklyn.

Knicks vs. Nets spread: Knicks -1 (Odds via FanDuel), Nets +1 (Odds via DraftKings)

The Knicks open as a miniscule one-point favorite on Wednesday night.

Both New York teams are two of the best in the business at covering as they each rank top-10 against the spread (ATS) through their first 26 games.

The slight advantage here goes to the Nets as 10-2-1 ATS at home and have covered in three of their last four games at the Barclays Center.

New York is so-so against the spread with an 8-7-1 record but haven't covered in four of its prior six matchups away from Madison Square Garden.

It's not much but getting Brooklyn as a home underdog is the side I'm taking especially with the Knicks at the end of a week long road trip and playing for the fifth time in seven nights.

PointsBet and DraftKings Sportsbook have the best price of -108 (Bet $108 to net $100) on the Nets +1 spread.

Prediction: Nets +1

Knicks vs. Nets total: Over 233 points (Odds via bet365), Under 233.5 points (Odds via PointsBet)

The reason this is one of the higher line's in he association on Wednesday has to do with the Knicks.

New York has gone way over this number in all but one of its last seven contests with 240 or more points scored.

The Nets haven't had nearly as many high-scoring affairs but have still put up 114+ points in eight of 10 games and are due for a bounce back after only putting up 101 last Thursday against the reigning NBA champion Nuggets and 108 last time out versus the Jazz.

Add in the fact that there's been at least 230 points scored in three straight head-to-head meetings, I'd bet the over now before it likely gets a few points higher come tip off later this evening.

Prediction: Over 233 points (-110)

Knicks vs. Nets moneyline: Knicks -112, Nets -104 (Odds via FanDuel)

Outside of the last two matchups during the 2022-23 season, the Nets have owned their crosstown rivals.

Brooklyn has won eight of the past 10 meetings including six in a row at the Barclays Center.

Even though the Nets have owned this series, it's come down to the wire and proven to be a close contest with six games being decided by seven points or fewer since Mar. 2021.

After three of the meetings a season ago were blowouts, I expect this one to be close with the Nets snapping their losing streak and getting back in the win column in their first home game since Dec. 8.

Prediction: Nets 121, Knicks 117
