Klay Thompson sets new career high for made 3-pointers in a season
In his first full regular season since the 2018-19 campaign, Klay Thompson has set a new career-high from beyond the arc.
With an already decorated resume from long distance, the sharpshooting guard rewrote his own history book with a made triple on Tuesday night against the New Orleans Pelicans.
With under seven minutes remaining in the third quarter, Thompson buried a wing jumper for his 277th made 3-pointer of the season, setting a new career high for made triples in a season.

Thompson’s previous career high in made 3-pointers came in the 2015-16 season when he knocked down 276 jumpers from beyond the arc.
The nine-year veteran’s 278 3-pointers lead the NBA in made 3-pointers this season. Indiana’s Buddy Hield trails Thompson with 271 made triples. Thompson’s fellow Splash Brother Steph Curry is sitting third with 250 made triples.
Thompson finished Tuesday’s contest with 17 points on 6-of-16 shooting from the field with five made 3-pointers to go along with two boards, two steals and an assist in 34 minutes during Golden State’s comeback win over New Orleans, 120-109.
With five games left on the schedule, Thompson will have the chance to add to his new career-high from deep.
