Kevin Pangos to sign two-year contract with Cavaliers

EuroLeague star Kevin Pangos will sign a two-year, $3.5 million contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers, his agency, Priority Sports, announced this week.

Bobby Marks of ESPN was the first to report the signing.

Pangos was named to the All-EuroLeague first team last season after averaging 13.1 points, 6.7 assists and two rebounds with Zenit Saint Petersburg. He shot 44.7% from the field, including 40.2% from 3-point range, in 65 games.

The 6-foot-2 guard went undrafted in 2015 after playing four seasons at Gonzaga. He was named the 2015 West Coast Conference Player of the Year as a senior and left the program as the all-time 3-point leader with 322, a mark that still stands.

The addition of Pangos will give the Cavaliers an experienced guard to the backcourt. He can also help mentor some of the younger players on the roster with his vast professional experience in Europe as the Cavaliers will be one of the youngest teams in the NBA this season.
