Kevin Durant taunted by fan relentlessly chanting 'New York Knicks' during Warriors-Rockets game

Kevin Durant got a little bit closer to his eventual free agency on Monday night when the Golden State Warriors lost 112-108 to the Houston Rockets, evening the series at 2-2. And one fan at the Toyota Center knew exactly where Durant should sign.

Throughout the game, a fan within range of the TNT microphone consistently and persistently yelled “NEW YORK KNICKS” every time Durant touched the ball.

Was this guy a Knicks fan? Was he a Rockets fan trying to mess with Durant? Either way, it’s a pretty brilliant taunt. It’s not insulting, but it is bothersome. And it’s completely about his future beyond the playoffs. Rumors about Durant and the Knicks have been swirling all year, especially since New York traded Kristaps Porzingis and could use a star like Durant.

We know that talking about his impending free agency gets Durant mad, so did the taunting affect him? Not that much. He had 34 points with seven rebounds and five assists. He missed a few free throws, but it doesn’t seem like it was the fault of Knicks Yelling Guy, despite his best efforts.

Will Knicks Yelling Guy resume his taunting when the Rockets and Warriors return to the Toyota Center on May 10? We’ll just have to wait and see.
