Kevin Durant shows ridiculous shot making over 7-footer Bol Bol after Monday's practice

Just for the record, Bol Bol had just cashed a jumper over Kevin Durant, but he returned the favor with one of the most ridiculous shots over the 7-footer.

The Phoenix Suns uncharacteristically opened practice to the media Monday before the scheduled time for availability.

During that viewing session Durant, Bol, Saben Lee and Chimezie Metu were playing iso, or 1-on-1 with a playground rule.

Make the shot, keep the ball. Miss it, step aside and wait your turn.

So Lee, a two-way player and backup point guard, had the ball with Durant guarding him. Durant forced a missed jumper to take possession and face Metu, a 6-foot-10 forward.

Durant sized him up, swung through with both hands on the ball to go right, went behind the ball and hit a one-legged pullup off his left outside the free throw line on the wing.

The bucket was so crazy, Devin Booker just walked from it in reaction as he watched it.

Mind you, Durant is listed as questionable for Tuesday’s game against Golden State with a left ankle sprain suffered in last week’s loss at the Lakers in the NBA In-Season Tournament quarterfinals.

Durant made the all-tournament team after averaging 34.5 points in four tournament games. He joined LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Tyrese Haliburton on the team.

After scoring over Metu, Durant faced the 7-foot-2 Bol and his 7-foot-8 wingspan.

Payback.

After sizing him up and going with the same ball through movement to go right, Durant turned his back with the dribble and the ball was out of his hands, did a shake like Kyrie Irving, and retrieved the ball to go left towards the baseline.

Irving and Durant were teammates in Brooklyn.

Durant took one dribble, faded and launched a jumper over the outstretched Bol high off the glass and into the basket.

Crazy.

Not only was Durant on baseline, he had little, if any margin for error.

Shoot it too hard, it bounces away from the basket. Too soft, it may wind up being an airball because.

Instead, the bank was open, and Durant asked the entire practice facility one question.

“YOU SEE THAT!” Durant screamed as Bol put his hands on his head in disbelief.

That was Lee, who forced a Durant miss.

Durant isn’t 10th in the NBA’s all-time scoring list by just making open shots or scoring in transition. He’s one of the best ever at shot-making.

At 6-10, or 7-foot depending on what you want to believe, Durant can shoot over the top of anyone, but his ability to get to any spot on the floor to rise up and score makes him nearly unguardable.

Metu and Bol were reminded of that after Monday’s practice.
