Kenny Britt's goal: To be a No. 1 receiver

The Tennessee Titans have been plenty patient with Kenny Britt, going through four years of the wide receiver suffering serious injuries and dealing with off-the-field problems.

But as he enters the final year of his contract, Kenny Britt says his goal for 2013 is simple.

“I want to be a complete player, and be that No. 1 receiver I know I can be, and everybody else sees the potential and says I can be, and show them I can do it, and show myself I can do it,” Britt told TitanInsider after the first day of Titans training camp.

Britt also said he is in the best physical shape he has been in since 2011 when he was off to a monster start (17 catches for 289 yards) before tearing his ACL and MCL in the third week of the season.

Yes, Britt might be motivated by the big pay day that he could reap at the end of the contract, but the Titans stand to benefit if he can reach his potential. If that happens, the Titans might find themselves in a similar situation as they were with Albert Haynesworth in 2007. The Titans didn't know exactly what they had in Haynesworth when he neared the end of his rookie contract. But they were able to benefit from the best two years of Haynesworth's career in 2007 and again in 2008 when they franchised him - and they made the playoffs both years.

If the same thing happens with Britt, the Titans would gladly take it.
