Kansas State football vs. Iowa State recap: Big plays lift Iowa State to 42-35 win
MANHATTAN — Kansas State football closes out its regular season Saturday against Iowa State in the latest installment of the Farmageddon series at Bill Snyder Family Stadium.
It has been snowing since Saturday morning in Manhattan, and the forecast calls for it to continue until 10 or 11 p.m. This is the first K-State home game with snow accumulation since the Wildcats beat Nebraska, 29-28, in 2000.
A trip to the Big 12 championship game is no longer in play for the Wildcats (8-3, 6-2 Big 12), but they can still clinch a tie for second place in the conference and enhance their bowl opportunities with a victory over the Cyclones (6-5, 5-3).
K-State, which is coming off a 31-27 victory at Kansas, ended a two-game losing streak to Iowa State last year with a hard-fought 10-9 victory in Ames. The Cyclones lost last week to league leader Texas and have dropped two of their last three games.

Kansas State wins the toss and defers
For just the second time this year, K-State deferred after winning the coin toss.
Iowa State will have the ball first.
Not a perfect night for football
The snow continues to fall 35 minutes before kickoff, but the wind is negligible. The grounds crew had used leaf blowers to clear the stripes every 5 yards and the right and left hashes, but those have long since been covered up during player warmups.
