Kam Kinchens, Andy Borregales highight six Hurricanes picked for AP All-ACC team

Six Hurricanes earned All-ACC honors from the Associated Press on Tuesday.

Miami safety Kamren Kinchens and kicker Andy Borregales were voted by a media panel to the first team. Four others were picked for the second team: wide receiver Xavier Restrepo, linebacker Francisco Mauigoa and offensive linemen Matt Lee and Jalen Rivers.

All of those players also earned All-ACC honors from the conference itself.

Kinchens, who earned a spot on the first team for the second year in a row, had 59 tackles and five interceptions this season.

Borregales made 21 of 25 field goals this season and made 41 of 42 extra points. He also had 45 touchbacks on 71 kickoffs.

Restrepo had a breakout 2023 campaign, leading Miami with 993 receiving yards, which ranked second in the conference. He had five touchdowns on 74 catches.

Mauigoa, in his first season at Miami after transferring from Washington State, racked up 70 tackles with 17 tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks. He was second in the ACC in tackles for loss and led the conference’s linebackers in sacks.

Lee also transferred to the Hurricanes, arriving from UCF. He had a 76.5 offensive score from Pro Football Focus with an 89.1 pass-blocking grade and a 70.3 run-blocking grade.

Rivers excelled at a new position, moving from left guard to left tackle this season. He had a 75.3 offensive score with a 89 pass-blocking grade from Pro Football Focus. He had a 69.9 run-blocking score.
