K-12 students to receive free tickets to Watertown's home SoDak 16 game on Saturday

A group of Watertown sponsors have joined together to try to help the Civic Arena become more of a home-court advantage for Watertown High School's boys basketball team on Saturday.

The seventh-seeded Arrows (12-8) are set to host 10th-seeded Sioux Falls Lincoln (10-10) at 6 p.m. in a Class AA SoDak 16 state-qualifying playoff game.

The sponsors are teaming together to allow for free admission to the game for all K-12 Arrow fans as part of a "Wear Black to Back the Arrows!" promotion.

Students in grades 7-8 have been asked to sign up for free tickets at the Watertown Middle School. Students in grades 9-12 also can sign up for free tickets at Watertown High School.

K-6 students, who should be accompanied by a parent, will get a free ticket at the game if they wear black to support the Arrows.

The winner of Saturday's game advances to the state Class AA tournament March 14-16 in the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center at Sioux Falls. Watertown hasn't qualified for state since 2015. It's also only the second time in the seven-year history of the SoDak 16 that the Arrows have hosted the game.
