EVAN DOHERTY: Jordan Time to look at what Jordan Love is made of brought to you by USAA.

I'm Evan Doherty for Yahoo Sports. The Utah State quarterback has quietly become one of the hot names in this year's draft class. The Bakersfield, California native broke out in 2018. And while his play took a slight dip in 2019, some, even Love himself, have compared the signal caller to Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes.

Love says the one moment that made him determined to become a pro was when he suddenly lost one of the most influential figures of his life.

JORDAN LOVE: My father passed away when I was 14 years old. And he was the man who got me into sports, got me into football and being a quarterback. So you know, when that happened, it was definitely something that fueled my passion a little bit more for the game. I just want to make it that much farther for my father.

EVAN DOHERTY: No matter when Jordan hears his name on draft night, you can be sure his father will be proud.

This look at Jordan Love's path to the draft was brought to you by USAA, proud supporter of the military community. What you're made of, we're made for.
