John Dodson Injured, Out of UFC on Fox 9 Bout with Scott Jorgensen
The Dec. 14 UFC on Fox card has taken yet another hit due to injury.
John Dodson has been forced to bow out of his UFC on Fox 9 bout with Scott Jorgensen due to an undisclosed injury, UFC officials announced on Tuesday evening.
A replacement for Dodson is currently being sought, officials said, and an announcement on whom Jorgensen will fight is expected soon.
Dodson was Jorgensen's second opponent after The Ultimate Fighter winner stepped up on short notice for an injured Ian McCall.
The 14-7 Jorgensen will look to bounce back in the win column with a fight at UFC on Fox 9. His last outing was a losing effort to Urijah Faber at the TUF 17 Finale back in April.
UFC on Fox 9 takes place in Sacramento, Calif., at the Sleep Train Arena. It is headlined by a flyweight title fight between champion Demetrious Johnson defending his title against Joseph Benavidez.
