Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow and NFL legend Joe Montana appeared on NBC's "Today" show Friday morning to discuss their recent community service.

In September, Burrow joined Montana in the Guinness outreach program, committing to hours of community service. On Friday, the two quarterbacks said they worked with City Harvest, a food rescue nonprofit in New York City, as part of the initiative.

"We were bagging some sweet potatoes yesterday and of course this guy made it a competition, so we got after it a little bit," Burrow said on "Today" about the experience.

The QB added that food insecurity is an issue "very important to my heart" and that he's enjoyed volunteering with Guinness Gives Back. The 26-year-old launched the Joe Burrow Foundation to address food insecurity and mental health needs in Ohio and Louisiana in October.

Burrow also talked about his relationship with Montana.

"To be around a guy like him is exciting for me because he's had all the success in the world that I plan on and want to have in my profession, and he's a great person to hang out with," he sad. "(He) helps in the community and has a lot of the same values I have."
