Jimmies track and field teams compete at GPAC Championships.

May 4—ORANGE CITY, Iowa. — The University of Jamestown track and field teams competed at the 2024 GPAC Championships from Friday, May 3, to Saturday, May 4, at Northwestern College's De Valois Stadium.

The Jimmies had nine top five finishes in the event. Jorden Morales finished first in the discus throw with a distance of 51.31 meters. His teammates Tyler Dean and Dawson Sedevic finished in fifth and sixth, respectively. Sedevic also finished in second in the hammer throw with a distance of 57.05 meters.

The Jimmies' Stephanie Chadduck finished second in the high jump with a leap of 1.65 meters. Paige Erhardt finished in third in the javelin throw, throwing it 38.11 meters.

The Jimmies also had two relay teams participating with the men's 4x100 relay team of Ashton Judge, Trevor Waldo, Bryson Tripp and Avery Harms finishing in ninth with a time of 44.07 seconds. The Jimmies' women's 4x100 meter relay team of Mackenzie Bakken, Sara Bonn, Paige Erhardt and Kristina Brossart finished in eighth with a time of 52.39 seconds.

The Jimmies had three athletes post scores good enough to qualify for the NAIA National Championships — Morales' discus throw, Sedevic's hammer throw and Chadduck's high jump.

As a team, the Jimmies men finished in seventh with 34.5 points. The Jimmies women finished in 10th with a score of 21 points. The men's event was won by Dordt University with 185 points, and the women's event was won by Concordia University Neb.) with 209.5 points.
