Jason Pierre-Paul recommended to not play again this season

New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul has been told by doctors that he shouldn't play again this season because of a shoulder injury, according to ESPN.

At this point, Pierre-Paul is likely to follow that advice, per the report.

"He won't be cleared until the doctors feel that there's one particular part of the injury that is not going to occur," Giants coach Tom Coughlin said Friday. "Until then, and if they do with the [remaining games, we're all in the same boat."

Pierre-Paul got hurt against the Oakland Raiders in November, playing in the following two games.

It's been an injury-plagued year for Pierre-Paul who underwent offseason back surgery.

He has only two sacks.
