Jalen Hurts ignored the noise created by trade rumors circulating around the Eagles’ alleged pursuit of DeShaun Watson and Russell Wilson over the past year, and he’s now the king of the castle heading into the 2022 NFL season.

Hurts addressed the media on Wednesday and discussed Philadelphia’s acquisition of A.J. Brown, along with his holistic approach to the offseason and taking the next steps as a passer heading into a regular season that could see the Eagles overtake the Cowboys in the NFC East.

With the Birds entering Week 2 of offseason workouts, here are takeaways and observations from Hurts’ media session.

Several times this offseason, Howie Roseman and Nick Sirianni have both affirmed their support for Hurts, strongly refuting any discussions of a trade scenario or drafting a potential successor.

On Wednesday, Hurts called the Eagles his team, accepting the responsibilities at hand.

Hurts and Brown are really good friends and that gave the Eagles quarterback some insight into the wide receivers’ unhappiness in Tennessee.

Asked about his part in Brown landing with Philadelphia, Hurts said it was understood.

Hurts needs to improve as a passer and if he can become more accurate and consistent, Philadelphia will be a problem.
