Jaguars PFF grades: Best and worst performers vs. Titans

The Jacksonville Jaguars got back on track Sunday with a 34-14 blowout of the Tennessee Titans that had no shortage of impressive performances.

Quarterback Trevor Lawrence racked up 262 passing yards, two passing touchdowns, and two rushing touchdowns. Wide receiver Calvin Ridley hauled in both of those touchdown passes during a 103-yard day.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Jaguars had two takeaways and Josh Allen, Travon Walker, Foye Oluokun, and Andre Cisco all recorded a half-sack each.

The analysts at Pro Football Focus dove deeper than the stats sheet, though. After breaking down every play and grading every player, here are the Jaguars who stood out most — both positively and negatively — against the Titans on Sunday:

5 highest grades on offense

1. WR Calvin Ridley: 84.5

2. RG Brandon Scherff: 80.3

3. RB Tank Bigsby: 77.4

4. QB Trevor Lawrence: 77.2

5. RB Travis Etienne Jr: 68.8

Ridley earning the best grade on offense isn’t surprising after he hauled in two touchdowns and recorded his third 100-yard game with the Jaguars. The much-maligned Bigsby is a bit of a surprise, though. The caveat is that he only played 10 snaps and this offensive grade doesn’t dock him for his penalty on special teams.

5 lowest grades on offense

1. LG Walker Little: 38.5

2. C Luke Fortner: 45.5

3. WR Zay Jones: 53.4

4. RB D’Ernest Johnson: 54.3

5. WR Tim Jones: 56.4

Little was better than last week, but not by much and not nearly enough. The Jaguars should give serious thought to inserting Ezra Cleveland in the starting lineup with hopes that it shores up Fortner’s play as well.

1. LB Devin Lloyd: 91.0

2. CB Tre Herndon: 74.1

3. DL Folorunso Fatukasi: 73.9

4. DL Roy Robertson-Harris: 73.3

5. LB Foye Oluokun: 70.3

Lloyd was everywhere, recording a team-high 11 tackles — no small feat with tackle hawk Foye Oluokun next to him. The second-year linebacker received a 88.0 run defense grade and 83.8 grade in coverage.

1. DL Adam Gotsis: 52.3

2. DL Jeremiah Ledbetter: 53.1

3. OLB K’Lavon Chaisson: 53.4

4. OLB Travon Walker: 55.9

5. OLB Dawuane Smoot: 59.8

It’s a great sign when no players are below 50. Nine of the Jaguars’ defensive players had a worse grade last week than the 52.3 recorded by Gotsis.

The Jaguars continue to get strong, reliable play out of Brown, who has afforded the team plenty of patience during Tyson Campbell’s recovery from injury. They might not be as patient with Walker Little as Cleveland showed he’s a capable player in his 19 snaps Sunday.
