Jacksonville Jaguars at New Orleans Saints: Predictions, picks and odds for NFL Week 7 game

The Jacksonville Jaguars (4-2) are back on the road, although without an entire ocean to cross, as they take on the New Orleans Saints (3-3) at Caesars Superdome to open Week 7 on Thursday night.

The Jaguars swept the Indianapolis Colts with a 37-20 victory after winning two games in London. Trevor Lawrence tweaked his knee last week and is day-to-day. CJ Beathard is Jacksonville's backup should Lawrence sit out this game. Wide receivers Christian Kirk and newcomer Calvin Ridley each have a pair of scores on the season.

For the Saints, Derek Carr threw for a season-high 353 yards and a touchdown but also threw an interception in a 20-13 loss to the Houston Texans. Alvin Kamara only had 68 rushing yards after becoming the franchise's touchdown leader a week earlier. Despite that, receivers Chris Olave, Michael Thomas and Rashid Shaheed have provided lots of downfield options.

Lorenzo Reyes: Saints 21, Jaguars 17

This is a tricky one, with the status of Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence up in the air. But with the quick turnaround with the Thursday game, I would expect Lawrence to be hindered — if he can go at all. If you’re leaning Saints, it might not be bad to jump on this sooner rather than later, assuming the line moves if Lawrence is ruled out.

Tyler Dragon: Jaguars 24, Saints 20

Jacksonville’s won three straight games. New Orleans has dropped three of its last four. Trevor Lawrence’s knee injury is a concern, but the team expects him to play. The quick turnaround favors New Orleans. However, Derek Carr and the Saints are still trying to figure themselves out offensively.

Victoria Hernandez: Jaguars 23, Saints 21

The Jaguars are tried and true on the road and showed last week that their success in London wasn’t a fluke. Yes, it will be harder if Trevor Lawrence is out, but the Saints haven’t found enough consistency to compete with the multi-dimensional Jacksonville offense.

Jordan Mendoza: Saints 16, Jaguars 14

Trevor Lawrence’s health is a big concern, and the Saints defense has only given up more than 20 points once this season. The New Orleans offense isn’t great, but they hold down Jacksonville enough for a close win.

Safid Deen: Saints 20, Jaguars 17

The Jaguars should rest Trevor Lawrence, who injured his left knee last Sunday against the Colts. While it would hurt Jacksonville’s chemistry, which has resulted in three straight wins and a 4-2 start, it would be the better long-term play for the Jaguars. The Saints offense leaves plenty to be desired, but should win at home if Lawrence is out.
