Jackson's Julia Gossett, Marlington's Sofia Nase lead 2023 all-league softball honors

Jackson senior pitcher Julia Gossett was named the Federal League Player of the Year after a remarkable season. The University of Purdue recruit was 11-4 with a save this season. Gossett struck out 198 batters in 105 innings pitched and had an ERA of 1.40. Gossett was also one of the top hitters in the area. She hit .531, with 11 home runs, 34 RBIs and 26 runs. She was also walked 35 times. Gossett helped Jackson reach the Division I district final.

Green head coach Sarah Gerber was named the Federal League Coach of the Year. Gerber guided the Bulldogs to their first outright Federal League title in program history this season.

Marlington swept the top awards in the Eastern Buckeye Conference. Senior pitcher Sofia Nase was named the EBC Player of the Year while Joe Tagliarini was named the EBC Coach of the Year. Nase went 17-0 this season with an ERA of 0.61. She also struck out 172 batters in 102 innings.

Tagliarini guided Marlington to an outright league title this year with a perfect 10-0 record in the EBC. The Dukes also reached the regional finals.

Triway took all the top awards in the PAC-7: Carter Wachtel is player of the year while Ron Rock was the coach of the year. The Titans were defending state champions in Division II and made it to the regional semifinals this season.
