Iowa Hawkeyes at Ohio State Buckeyes: TV, stream, game notes for Sunday

The Iowa Hawkeyes hit the road to Value City Arena to take on the Ohio State Buckeyes in another key Big Ten showdown.

Iowa (18-1, 7-0 Big Ten) is off to its best start in the Lisa Bluder era and its best start in nearly 30 years. For the first time since the 1995-96 season, the Hawkeyes are 18-1 overall and 7-0 in Big Ten play.

Iowa enters today winners of a Big Ten-best 15 straight games. The Hawkeyes dismantled Wisconsin in their most recent contest, 96-50. It was Iowa’s 29th consecutive win over the Badgers.

Senior superstar and reigning national player of the year Caitlin Clark finished with six made 3-pointers and 32 points on 8-of-18 shooting. She added seven rebounds, five assists and four steals.

Graduate guard Kate Martin had another terrific game, scoring 16 points on 5-of-8 shooting, including 4-of-7 from 3-point distance. It was the 12th time in the past 14 games that Martin eclipsed double figures in the scoring column.

Junior guard Sydney Affolter was the Hawkeyes’ other double-figure scorer with 12 points on a perfect 3-for-3 shooting day.

Meanwhile, Ohio State (14-3, 5-1 Big Ten) has won four straight and can take a big step forward in the regular season race by protecting home court against Iowa.

Since falling at Michigan on Dec. 30, 69-60, Ohio State has rattled off wins over Northwestern (90-60), Rutgers (90-55), Michigan State (70-65) and Maryland (84-76).

The last time Iowa and Ohio State met was in the Big Ten Tournament championship game last spring. The Hawkeyes won that contest in emphatic fashion 105-72 over the Buckeyes from inside the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minn.

Clark registered her then-10th career triple-double with 30 points, 17 assists and 10 rebounds. Monika Czinano added 26 points and Martin finished with 13 to help Iowa rout Ohio State.
