Introducing the 2023 Naples Daily News All-Area Football Offense Team
At the end of each season, the Naples Daily News selects All-Area teams honoring the best athletes for every sport. Coaches from area schools are sent nomination forms and are asked to nominate and rank their athletes as well as those from other teams. That data combined with the Naples Daily News' research led to the selection of the All-Area teams.
FIRST TEAM
Gregory Breston
School: Golden Gate
Year: Senior
Position: Placekicker
Highlights: His first and last season as Golden Gate's kicker will be remembered, as Breston finished sixth statewide with 79 total points. The senior made 52 of 56 PATs and made 9 of 12 field goals with a long of 45 yards as the Titans finished 9-3.
Woody Celucien
School: Lely
Year: Junior
Position: Offensive line
Highlights: Celucien was a big player on the offensive line, helping Lely's rushing attack to average 5.7 yards per carry for 10 games this season. The junior saw Lely's ground game go for well north of 1,500 yards on the year under first-year coach Ben Hammer.
Justin Compere
School: Immokalee
Year: Sophomore
Position: Running back
Highlights: Compere's sophomore season was an impressive one, as he finished with 921 rushing yards and a team-high 12 touchdowns on the year to help Immokalee to a district title. Compere finished with 1,101 scrimmage yards with just one fumble across 135 touches.
Ethan Crossan
School: First Baptist
Year: Junior
Position: Quarterback
Highlights: The Lions quarterback had a record-setting season under center for First Baptist, throwing for 3,264 yards with a completion percentage over 62 percent. Crossan had 47 total touchdowns with 8 interceptions to help the Lions back to the Final Four in Class 1S.
Teddy Eugene
School: Gulf Coast
Year: Senior
Position: Offensive line
Highlights: A FACA District 18 selection on the offensive line, Eugene came through up front in many key situations when it mattered. The senior helped pave the way for a Gulf Coast run game that posted 1,523 yards, finishing 5-5 in 2023.
Brody Graham
School: Barron Collier
Year: Junior
Position: Wide receiver
Highlights: The wide receiver was productive once again, catching 48 passes for 830 yards with 11 touchdowns as Barron Collier finished 8-3 with a regional quarterfinal berth in Class 3S-Region 3. In his last two seasons as a full-time starter, Graham has caught 80 passes for 1,435 yards with 20 touchdowns.
Jaydon Harris
School: Golden Gate
Year: Senior
Position: Offensive line
Highlights: A two-time Naples Daily News All-Area First Team selection, Harris was a part of an elite Golden Gate offensive line that saw its ground game average 7.2 yards per attempt with 2,653 rushing yards on the season. Harris helped lead the Titans up front to a season in which the program had eight 200-plus yard rushing efforts.
George Haseotes
School: Community School
Year: Sophomore
Position: Offensive line
Highlights: Haseotes was a strong interior lineman for the Seahawks this year, helping the program average 5.6 yards per carry with two running backs over 500 yards on the season as CSN finished 8-2.
John Lee Honorat
School: Golden Gate
Year: Senior
Position: Utility
Highlights: Honorat did just about everything offensively for Golden Gate, rushing for 773 yards and 14 touchdowns while catching 21 passes for 372 yards and three more scores as the Titans captured their first district title in program history.
Trayvon Jean
School: Golden Gate
Year: Junior
Position: Running back
Highlights: Arguably the area's most physical runner, it often took more than one defender to take Jean down. The junior running back rushed for 1,683 yards and 14 touchdowns, adding a receiving touchdown to help lead the Titans' offense which averaged 36.8 points per game.
Sam Kelley
School: Naples
Year: Senior
Position: Offensive line
Highlights: It was hard to miss Kelley up front, as the senior had a hand in producing a 2,000-yard rusher. Kelley's physicality up front helped the Golden Eagles score 56 of their 61 offensive touchdowns on the ground this season with a 10-3 season.
Jayden Petit
School: First Baptist
Year: Sophomore
Position: Wide receiver
Highlights: Petit took a quantum leap in his second season at receiver, catching 66 passes for 1,141 yards and 16 touchdowns as the Lions finished 9-3 on the year with a state semifinal appearance in Class 1S. The sophomore nearly quadrupled his receiving yardage totals, while quintupling his receiving touchdown total from a season ago.
Chandron Pierre
School: Immokalee
Year: Senior
Position: Wide receiver
Highlights: A key piece in Immokalee's path to success revolved around Pierre at receiver, as the senior caught 28 passes for 523 yards and 10 touchdowns to help lead Redwood back to a district championship and a first-round playoff win. Pierre is the first Indian to have double-digit touchdown receptions since the 2017 season.
Shawn Simeon
School: Naples
Year: Junior
Position: Running back
Highlights: Simeon's junior season was a historic one, as he joined rare company in Collier County with a 2,000-yard rushing season. In his first year as the full-time starter, Simeon posted 2,040 yards rushing and 27 touchdowns, both were area highs among running backs. Simeon also set the school record for rushing yards in a single game (387) against Port Charlotte.
Winston Watkins Jr.
School: First Baptist
Year: Junior
Position: Wide receiver
Highlights: The IMG transfer carved up his competition this year, catching 61 passes for 1,170 yards and 13 touchdowns in just eight games as the junior four-star wide receiver helped FBA get back to the Class 1S Final Four. Watkins finished with 1,813 all-purpose yards, averaging well north of 200 yards per game.

COACH OF THE YEAR
James Delgado
School: Immokalee
Highlights: After being an FHSAA Independent in 2021 and compiling a 2-7 record, Delgado took the job at Immokalee and just came seconds away from capturing a district championship in his first season last year. In his second season at the helm, Delgado led the Indians to the Class 4S-District 16 championship and a first-round playoff win, helping the program to a 6-6 finish.
