HS Roundup for Nov. 27-Dec. 2: Friday's Basketball and Soccer results

Boys Basketball

Palmetto Ridge 53, Countryside 50 (OT): The Bears remain unbeaten in their start to the year with their win over the Cougars in a rematch of last year's Class 6A-Region 3 quarterfinal. Calven Charles dropped 31 points as Palmetto Ridge improved to 3-0 on the season.

Gateway Charter 79, Community School 56: Pat Johnson erupted for 31 points and 14 rebounds in the Griffins' win over the Seahawks. EJ Monteagudo added 16 points and three rebounds, while Gabe Timmons had four points, 10 rebounds, and five assists. Noah Cutler finished with nine points, six assists, and five rebounds, and Trey Fogle tacked on nine points and three assists.

Lehigh 82, Riverdale 43: Angel Pagan tallied 17 points, three steals, and two assists in the win. Kionus Walters had 17 points and six assists, while Fritz Odige added 12 points and 10 rebounds. Justin Gollopp finished with four points, seven assists, and five steals.

Naples 75, Ida Baker 38: The Golden Eagles improved to 3-0 on the year in their win over the Bulldogs. Adrian Llamo led the way with 17 points, while Charlie Ricketts added 16 points.

St. John Neumann 53, Evangelical Christian 44: Jahquez Outten led the Sentinels with 13 points, four rebounds, and two steals. Trae Guttery added 11 points and three assists in the loss.

Seacrest 76, SFCA 59: Four different Stingrays broke double-digit scoring in their win over the King's, led by Ben Cassano's 27 points with four triples and seven rebounds. Brady Barnaby added 14 points and eight rebounds, while Ethan Bates and Jordan Perron added 12 points and 10 points, respectively.

Girls Basketball

Cypress Lake 44, Marco Island 23: The Panthers improved to 3-0 on the year behind Kylie Anderson's 19 points. Bri Madore finished with 16 points, and Lilly Witz added nine points.

St. John Neumann 66, Golden Gate 17: Sydney Martin led the Celtics with 21 points. Kaiya Arilli added 11 points.

Community School 1, Seacrest 1: Max Pearson scored on a free kick for the Stingrays in their draw with the Seahawks.

Girls Soccer

SFCA 4, Sarasota Christian 1: Riley Roberts scored two goals, while Bela Ramirez and Schylar Yianoukos added one goal each. Raychel Nassaf had an assist to the winning effort.

Community School 2, Seacrest 2: Kennedy Barnaby scored both of the Stingrays' goals in their tie with the Seahawks.

THURSDAY

Girls Soccer

Evangelical Christian 8, Lehigh 0: Taylor Foss finished with three goals and one assist, and Mia McDaniel added two goals. Brooke Foss added one goal and three assists, while Emerson McCloud and Carly McKay added one goal each. Emma Blackwell had two assists.

Aubrey Rogers 4, Golden Gate 0:  Lauren Gorsline scored a first half goal on an assist from Ava Schulz. Sheli Bershadski converted a free kick early in the second half. Tynley Sujevich and Meliha Hasan broke away in the closing minutes to score the last two goals in the Patriots' win as they improved to 5-1-1 on the year.

Naples 2, Lely 1: The Golden Eagles improved to 7-0-1 with their win over the Trojans. Cason Shepard and Dylan Parra scored one goal each, both were assisted by Gabriel Ouwehand Day.

Palmetto Ridge 2, Gulf Coast 0: Jonathan Tamayo and Felix Tamayo scored in the Bears' win, assisted by Chris Ramirez and Yago Jaszchuk. Anthony Nino preserved the shutout in the net with 10 saves.

Girls Basketball

Naples 42, Lely 41: Abby Byrd finished with 10 points, four assists, and three rebounds while Annika Andersen had 10 points. Emma Paul tallied six points, eight rebounds, four assists, and four steals. Lizie Froloff added seven points, four rebounds, and three steals. Maddie Hovey tacked on five points, three rebounds, and three steals.

Gulf Coast 62, Palmetto Ridge 28: Mack McMaster and Kali Cleary combined for 22 points in a balanced scoring night from the Sharks that saw all five starters score at least eight points.

Cypress Lake 61, East Lee County 17: Lily Witz led the Panthers with 11 points, and Brigitte Maillakakis added 10 points. Jenna Cook and Bri Madore scored eight points each.

Barron Collier 70, Immokalee 7: The Cougars kept the Indians scoreless in the second and third quarters as Peyton Hefflefinger dropped 32 points.

Palmetto Ridge 69, Gulf Coast 51: Sean Gomez led the Bears with 24 points. Calven Charles added 16 points, while Jaydon Soto added 10 points.

South Fort Myers 2, Cypress Lake 0: Donovan Perez scored both of the Wolfpacks' goals in their win over the Panthers, while Ibraell Tanure registered eight saves in the shutout. Henry Rivera and Roberto Martinez assisted Perez for his two goals.

Cypress Lake 8, South Fort Myers 0: Meredith Moldawsky tallied four goals and two assists, while Rory Farrell added two goals and three assists to the winning effort. Amberly Marmolejos rounded out the Panthers' scoring with her first two goals of the season. Ava Gadus finished with two assists.

Canterbury 3, Ida Baker 2: Alyssa LoGuercio netted two goals for the Cougars, while Mackenzie Molina added one goal. Kali Young, Mia Accola, and Alexis Molina added one assist each. Taiya Arrigo tallied four saves, including a penalty kick save.

North Fort Myers 6, North Port 1: The Red Knights improved to 5-0-0 behind Kenlee Dominguez' three goals and one assist. Karmen Rich finished with two goals, and Sophia Kerns added one goal and two assists. Evie McCarthy added one assist to the win.

Seacrest 3, Donahue Academy 1: Ella Malone, Brooke Shefsky, and Annie Smith all scored one goal each in the Stingrays' win.

Community School 78, LaBelle 54: Jack London had a dominant night for the Seahawks, finishing with 15 points, 17 rebounds, and four blocks. Dom Hoge added 21 points, four assists, and four steals. Brennan Ringhofer had 21 points, eight rebounds, and six assists.

Bishop Verot 8, Evangelical Christian 0: Jillian Haataja tallied four goals in the Vikings shutout win over the Sentinels. Alyvia Mueller finished with two goals and two assists, and Katie Pelkofski added one goal and two assists. Caroline Pelkofski rounded out the scoring with one goal, while Lea Scotti, Lindsey Walsh, and Lila Dinkel all had one assist each.

Aubrey Rogers 8, Palmetto Ridge 0: The Patriots notched their first home win in program history with style, mercy ruling the Bears with over 25 minutes left to play. Kendall Persich netted Aubrey Rogers' first home goal of the season, assisted by Paisley Hicks. Hicks, Persich, and Rafa Borda Villazon finished with two goals each while Laney Lefebvre and Olivia Gelardi added one goal each. Riley Mikes and Haley Nash combined for a shutout in the net.

Oasis 1, Ida Baker 0: Samantha Chitu netted the Sharks' lone goal in their win over the Bulldogs. Angelina Acevedo-Montalvo tallied seven saves in the win.

North Fort Myers 9, Charlotte 0: Kenlee Dominguez finished with two goals and one assist, while Sophia Kerns and Sophia Quartuccio added two goals each. Evie McCarthy had one goal and two assists, and Megan Bergin netted one goal and one assist. Bri Sullivan rounded out the scoring for the Red Knights with one goal. Palmetto Ridge 71, Aubrey Rogers 39: Calven Charles had 18 points in the Bears' season opener. Alex Maldonado added 11 points to the stout win over the Patriots.

Naples 65, Immokalee 53: Jaden Wolner had 29 points and six rebounds for the Golden Eagles, while Adrian Llamo added 10 points. Nick Hodge led the Indians with 14 points.

Cape Coral 70, Riverdale 51: Austin Arringdale-Klein had a double-double in the Seahawks' win with 18 points and 11 boards. Joe Silva added 14 points and eight rebounds, while Elijah Felix finished with 15 points and six assists.
