Welcome to The Stew’s Hot Stove Digest, our daily rundown of MLB news, rumors and gossip for Hot Stove season. Here you’ll find a quick recap of all the day’s action and other fun stuff from around the internet that we think is worth your time.

DONE DEAL: The Cleveland Indians continued their aggressive push for a World Series title Thursday, shoring up their bullpen by signing left-handed reliever Boone Logan. The 32-year-old southpaw posted a 3.69 ERA over 46 1/3 innings with the Colorado Rockies in 2016. He’s been incredible against lefties during his career, holding them to just a .228 batting average over 11 seasons. He’ll join an already strong bullpen that features both Andrew Miller and Cody Allen. [@Ken_Rosenthal]

TRADE RIPPLES: Last season’s botched trade between the San Diego Padres and Miami Marlins also had an impact on a third franchise. The Philadelphia Phillies were all set to deal pitcher Jeremy Hellickson, but couldn’t complete the move after complications arose between the Padres and Marlins.

The whole issue started after pitcher Colin Rea, who was traded from San Diego to Miami, injured himself immediately after the deal. The Marlins complained to the commissioner’s office that the Padres failed to disclose medical information on Rea, prompting the office to allow the Marlins to undo that trade. Instead of completely reversing the deal, Miami sent Rea back to San Diego in exchange for prospect Luis Castillo.

How does this involve the Phillies? Well, if the entire deal wasn’t reversed, the Phillies had a deal in place to send Hellickson to Miami for first baseman Josh Naylor. That didn’t happen. Naylor, who was in the initial deal, remained with the Padres. By the time things were sorted out, the Phillies couldn’t trade Hellickson to another club. Philadelphia instead held on to the pitcher, and brought him back on a one-year $17.2 million qualifying offer. Hellickson is a strong candidate to hit the trading block again in July. [Fox Sports]

MAKE A CHOICE: Former San Francisco Giants reliever Sergio Romo is deciding between the Los Angeles Dodgers and an unidentified, mystery team. Romo, 33, posted a 2.64 ERA over 30 2/3 innings with the Giants in 2016. If Romo chooses the mystery team, the Dodgers are also talking to other relievers, including Joe Blanton. [@Ken_Rosenthal]

HE’S BACK: The Cincinnati Reds are close to a minor-league deal with pitcher Bronson Arroyo. Arroyo, 39, hasn’t pitched in the majors since 2014, but still believes he has something left in the tank. After being a bastion of good health over his career, Arroyo underwent Tommy John surgery in 2014, and has dealt with a myriad of other injuries since. [@Buster_ESPN]

GOT HIM: The Reds have agreed to a deal with outfielder Desmond Jennings. The 30-year-old outfielder hit .200/.281/.350, with seven home runs, over 225 plate appearances with the Tampa Bay Rays in 2016. He’s expected to compete for a starting spot with the club in spring training. While Jennings has mostly played centerfield throughout his career, he’ll likely see time in one of the corners since the Reds have Billy Hamilton. [@ChrisCotillo]

SIGN HIM UP: The Minnesota Twins have agreed to a one-year deal with pitcher Matt Belisle. The 36-year-old posted a 1.76 ERA over 46 innings with the Washington Nationals in 2016. Belisle has mostly been used as a set-up man over the course of his career, and will likely fill that role for the Twins in 2017. [@JonHeyman]

DONE DEAL: The Phillies have agreed to a one-year deal with outfielder Chris Coghlan. The 31-year-old split time between the Oakland Athletics and Chicago Cubs in 2016. He hit .188/.290/.318 over 300 plate appearances. [@JonHeyman]

TOUGH LUCK: After not driving in a single run in 2016, Baltimore Orioles catcher Caleb Joseph lost his arbitration case with the club. Despite that, he’s still due a slight raise in 2017. [The Stew]
