Homers, gems and steals: Vote for IndyStar softball players of the week (March 25-30)

Congratulations to Lapel's Lylah Gore on being voted Player of the Week for March 18-23! Gore batted .571 with eight hits, seven RBIs, two doubles, two home runs and four runs scored through opening week. She lifted the Bulldogs to a wild win over Hamilton Heights on Friday, cranking a walk-off home run in the bottom of the seventh.

Here are this week's nominees.
Lily Allen, Silver Creek
The junior strung together five hits in 10 at bats with seven RBIs. She drove in five of those runs amidst a 2-for-4 outing vs. Portage that included a triple and a run scored. She also went 2-for-3 with a homer against Cathedral.
Skylar Baldwin, Pendleton Heights
Baldwin followed a 1-for-3 performance against Westfield by going yard twice, scoring thrice and driving in three runs at Center Grove on Friday. She also swiped three bases, and recorded a couple putouts, five assists and turned a double play in the field.
Kinsey Clopton, Bloomington South
Four appearances in and the senior pitcher has already accumulated 52 strikeouts and compiled a 0.33 ERA. She fanned 18 batters against Owen Valley, 12 against North Knox and 17 against Columbus East, and is limiting opposing hitters to a .131 average.
Cheyenne Eads, Shelbyville
Eads vs. Seymour: 6 innings pitched, 1 hit, 0 runs, 10 strikeouts, 2 walks. Eads vs. Jennings County: 7 innings pitched, 3 hits, 0 runs, 14 strikeouts, 2 walks. She also went 4-for-4 at the dish against Jennings County with a double, a home run, 2 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
Sidney Feczko, Cathedral
The Irish played five games during opening week and Feczko was excellent. She batted .385 with six RBIs and a run scored, and secured four wins in the circle, posting a 1.05 ERA and 31 strikeouts. She struck out 10 against both Bishop Chatard and Silver Creek.
Baleigh Fish, Columbus East
The freshman made a splash for the Olympians, batting .500 (7-for-14) with two doubles, three homers, four runs scored and six RBIs. Her efforts helped East to a 3-1 week and were highlighted by a 3-for-4 performance at Bloomington North that included a double and a home run.
Leah Helton, Zionsville
The sophomore helped the Eagles improve to 4-0 for the first time in over a decade, batting .571 with three RBIs against Mt. Vernon and Center Grove. She also pitched both games, finishing the week with 17 strikeouts and a 2.54 ERA across 11 innings. Helton fanned the last four batters to preserve a four-run lead vs. CG.
Riley Henson, Center Grove
The senior picked up her first win of the season Friday night, pitching the final two innings of a walk-off 7-6 win over Pendleton Heights. Henson struck out five and allowed only one hit across two shutout innings in the win. Madeline Herman, Avon
Herman was excellent in the circle against BNL, spinning a five-inning, two-hit shout with five strikeouts to improve to 1-1 and drop her season ERA to 0.88. She also stepped up in the clutch at the plate, capping a 4-for-4 week with a pinch hit homer against the Stars.
Kelsey Lovelace, Columbus North
The Bull Dogs’ lone senior and new leadoff hitter, Lovelace went 2-for-3 against East Central with the go-ahead sacrifice fly in the fifth (won, 8-7), then went 3-for-5 with four runs scored, two RBIs, a double, a home run and a stolen base (she stole home!) in a 10-9 win over Terre Haute South.
Malone Moore, Beech Grove
Moore is batting .556 with three doubles, a homer and five RBIs through her first three games, and owns a 3-0 record with a 1.20 ERA and 34 strikeouts. She fanned 13 in a nine-inning win over Jennings County and has allowed just four runs on the season.
Sydney Moss, Lawrence North
Moss allowed only one hit and struck out six over three shutout innings against Richmond. She also stole a base and went 2-for-2 at the plate with two homers, five RBIs, two walks and two runs scored.
Lizzy Sinders, Clay City
The three-sport standout went 4-for-6 with two doubles and four runs scored Saturday, lifting Clay City to wins over BNL and Loogootee.
Lani Wyrick, Hamilton Southeastern
The senior went 3-for-3 against Greenfield-Central with a couple triples and three runs scored. Wyrick is batting .500 on the young season with five hits, seven runs scored, five RBIs and a homer.
