Homer party continued at Baum-Walker as Razorbacks took Game 2 against Wright State

Four home runs in the first game. Another three in the second.

Wright State provided batting practice for the Arkansas baseball in the first two games of the series Friday and Saturday. After run-ruling Wright State in the first game of the set, Arkansas was back at it in the second, winning, 12-6.

Peyton Stovall and Jared Wegner had homers for the second straight game and freshman Jayson Jones knocked in his second this season.

Stovall’s drove in both runs in Arkansas’ two-run first inning. The second inning yielded more damage as the Diamond Hogs chased two Raiders pitchers in the first 1 1/3 innings by scoring five in the second frame.

Will McEntire turned the best start of his season on the other side. The Arkansas starter went five innings, striking out six, though he did allow eight hits and three walks. Still, Wright State managed to score just two earned runs in that time.

Wegner popped his team-leading fifth homer in the third inning as Arkansas plated two more in the inning. His was a two-run shot that knocked in Stovall. Wegner’s 18 RBI on the season are eight more than anyone else on the Diamond Hogs roster.

Arkansas will go for the sweep Sunday at 1 p.m.
