BASEBALL

Division II

Middletown 12, Burrillville 4

Jacob Mello had three hits and Evan Agren and Julien Delacrus each drove in a pair of runs in the Islanders victory over the Broncos. Agren also was solid on the mound for Middletown as he completed 6 innings, allowing 4 runs on five hits while striking out 4. Jack Dichiaro and Joe Laramie led Burrillville with two hits each in the loss.

Division II

Narragansett 3, Woonsocket 2

The Mariners' Aidan Clancy threw 5 innings, allowed just 1 run, 3 hits, and struck out 7 and shortstop Vito Paglia had the go-ahead sacrifice fly in the 5th inning to help Narragansett edge the Villa Novans. Paglia also threw out the would-be tying run at the plate in the 7th. Skyler Fratiello-Soule had an RBI single in the victory. For Woonsocket, Michael Cinquantini was 3-4 at the plate with an RBI.

Barrington 10, Ponaganset 2

Quinn Murphy belted a 2-run homer while Gabe Tanous added a single, double and triple which drove in 3 runs as Barrington (5-1) defeated Ponaganset. Murphy also hit a single. Chris Promades added a single, double and 2 RBI for the Eagles. Starting pitcher Alex Anderson tossed five innings and allowed only 1 hit plus 2 runs (1 earned). He struck out 10 and didn’t issue any walks. Pat Ferns had a 2-run double for the Chieftains.

SOFTBALL

Division II

Westerly 8, West Warwick 7

Emma Caracciola had two hits including a homer and 3 RBI and teammates Isabella Austin, Sophia Valentini and Ella Keegan each drove in a run in the Bulldogs' victory over the Wizards. West Warwick was led by Adrianna Carsetti, who went 3-3 with 3 RBI, and Madison Walsh who had a two-run double in the loss.

Burrillville/N. Smithfield 11, Middletown 9

Avah Colbert, Emma Leduc and Emma Gabrielson each recorded a pair of hits, and six batters in all drove in at least a run for the Broncos, who plated 7 runs in the bottom of the fourth. On the hill, Mariah Joyal struck out 6 over five innings in picking up the W. The Islanders compiled 13 hits in the loss.

Portsmouth 20, South Kingstown 5

Barbara Rainey led the Patriots attack, going 4-5 with a home run, and Kaylyn Aubuchon was 2-6 with 3 RBIs. For the Rebels, Grace Palmieri went 1-2 with an RBI. Portsmouth improves to 2-3 on the season, while SK slips to 3-3.

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

Division I

North Kingstown 3, Hendricken 0 (25-14, 25-18, 25-15)

Cody Tow led the Skippers with 13 kills and 8 digs, Ryan Harrington recorded 12 kills and 3 aces and Finn Kearney had 10 digs in the victory. For the Hawks, Ben Warr had 22 assists and 5 kills. NK moves to 6-0 on the season, while Hendricken slips to 3-4.

Cranston East 3, Coventry 0 (25-16, 25-12, 25-23)

Dennis Dixon posted 13 kills, Charles Pincince recorded 8 kills and Caleb Xum dished off 27 helpers as the 'Bolt easily got by Coventry. For the Oakers, Zackary Rzemien had 10 assists, 3 kills and 2 aces and Cameron Marcotte had 8 kills in the loss.

La Salle 3, Chariho 0 (25-15, 25-21, 25-23), JV - LSA, 2-0

Jahmir Evans had 10 kills, 5 digs, and an ace after missing a few games due to illness. Stephen Buco had 33 assists and 10 digs, and Connor Lewis had 10 kills and 4 blocks.
