BOYS SOCCER
Division III semifinals
Ponaganset 1, Scituate 0 (2 o.t.)
At 24 seconds into the second overtime, Cristiano DaSilva took a feed from Ryan McEntee and found the back of the net for what would be the only score in the game as the Chieftains upended the previously unbeaten Spartans in the D-III semifinal. It was a game of goaltending as both netminders showed their abilities by keeping the match scoreless for two halves and an overtime period. Allen Paxton had 7 saves to record the shutout while Bryant Amaral posted 6 saves in the loss. the Chieftains move on to the D-III championship against St. Raphael on Sunday at 5 p.m.
St. Raphael 2, Middletown 1
Lucas Rosa and Tiago Ramos each scored for the Saints to edge the Islanders and reach Saturday's Division III title match against Ponaganset. The Saints came into the contest sporting a 13-2-1 record and Middletown was 8-2-6 on the season.
GIRLS SOCCER
Division II semifinals
Portsmouth 1 (4), Lincoln 1 (3)
After a brilliantly played first and second half, Portsmouth and Lincoln followed with a scoreless regulation and went to a shootout, where the Patriots pulled out a 4-3 edge to advance to their second straight Division II title match.
Mollyanna McGuire scored the goal for Portsmouth while Elaine Joy had the tally for Lincoln.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
Division III semifinals
Burrillville 3, Tiverton 1
The Broncos outlasted the Tigers (10-4) in this Division III semifinal played at Mt. Hope High School. With the win, Burrillville (12-4) advances to the Div. III title match on Saturday at Rhode Island College against Tolman.
Tolman 3, Scituate 1
The Tigers (13-2) were the top team in Division III this season, so it's fitting they'll be playing for a championship, after downing the Spartans (10-5) in their semifinal matchup at Mt. Hope High School. Tolman will face Burrillville for the title.
