High school roundup: Nowak leads Souhegan, Hakala paces Mascenic to NHIAA golf titles

Oct. 12—Nick Nowak took individual honors and led Souhegan to a second straight team title in Thursday's NHIAA Division III golf championship at Sagamore Golf Course in Hampton.

The Sabers finished first with 320 strokes, with Pelham (348) and Derryfield School (349) following.

Nowak fired a 2-over 73. Teammate Sean Zerega took runner-up honors with a 77.

In Division IV at North Conway CC, Josiah Hakala of Mascenic scorched the course with a 7-under 64 to lead the Vikings to the team crown. Mascenic has won three of the last four titles.
