Here's who won the Register Star's Athlete of the Week honor for Feb. 5-10

In a tight race until the end, Auburn basketball star Rakim Chaney edged out Lena-Winslow/Stockton wrestler Jeremiah Luke to win the Rockford Register Star high school sports Athlete of the Week for his performance from Feb. 5-10.

Chaney, who scored 41 points in a win on Saturday to break Auburn’s school record, and to put him over 1,000 points for his career, edged out Luke, who outdueled Byron's Kyle Jones, a state-place winner last year, 4-2 in triple overtime to earn a state bid in wrestling. Chaney earned 2,308 votes, which was 45.88 percent, while Luke hauled in 2,202 votes for 43.78 percent.
