Here's where Clemson football is picked to finish in the ACC in the 2023 preseason media poll

For the sixth consecutive year, Clemson football is the favorite to win the ACC in the preseason media poll. The Tigers received the most points (2,370) from votes by 176 media members polled at ACC media days last week. Clemson received 103 first-place votes.

Coming in second with 2,304 points (67 first-place votes) is Florida State. The Seminoles have generated offseason buzz thanks to a host of returning talent and some big transfer additions, but the surveyed media aren't all convinced.

The last time a team other than Clemson was picked to finish first was in 2017, when the Seminoles were the top pick. Clemson went 7-1 in ACC play that season, while Florida State went 3-5.

Other than the COVID 2020 season, the 2023 season is the ACC's first without divisions since 2004, meaning the championship game will feature the top two teams in the standings rather than the winner of each division. According to the preseason poll, that would mean a Clemson vs. Florida State ACC title game this year.

The preseason All-ACC team and Player of the Year will be released Wednesday. Clemson begins preseason practices Friday before opening the 2023 season Sept. 4 at Duke.
