Here's what to know when Indiana Sprint Week hits Bloomington Speedway

Indiana Sprint Week will arrive at Bloomington Speedway on Friday for the Sheldon Kinser Memorial but with a slightly later start time due to the excessive heat that is expected.

Pits will open at 4 p.m. and grandstands at 5. Cars will now start hitting the track at 6:45.

Kyle Cummins of Princeton charged from 10th to first to score the victory during the 2022 USAC NOS Energy Drink Indiana Sprint Week event at Bloomington Speedway.

General admission tickets are $30 with ages 10 and under free. Pit passes are $35 for members, $30 for non-members $15 for age 10 and under. Credit cards are accepted, but track recommends cash and that having exact change keeps the line moving faster.

When Sprint Week began, 31 different driver and team combinations planned to compete in all eight events.

Seven past Indiana Sprint Week champions are set to compete on 2023’s slate.

Seeking a third series championship is Kevin Thomas Jr. (Cullman, Ala.), who captured titles in both 2017 and 2021. Five one-time champions are also on hand, including Rocklin, California’s Robert Ballou (2015), Broken Arrow, Oklahoma’s Brady Bacon (2016), Greenfield, Indiana’s C.J. Leary (2019), Fort Branch, Indiana’s Chase Stockton (2020) and Ione, California’s Justin Grant (2022).

Bacon, the 2021 Sheldon Kinser winner, was atop this year's Sprint Week points standings at 259, tied with Grant heading into . Emerson Axsom was third, 10 points behind. Last year's Kinser Memorial winner, Kyle Cummins of Princeton, sat sixth (205). He won Tuesday at Circle City.

Brayden Fox (Avon) has already been a victor twice this season at Bloomington, and his father, Brad Fox, scored his first USAC win at the same track back in 1997. Geoff Ensign (Sebastopol, Calif.) captured his first track championship at Bloomington in 2022.
