A six-month long investigation from the joint Henderson County Drug Task Force led to 41 arrests and six "drug houses" being shut down on June 30, according to a post from the Henderson County Sheriff's Office Facebook page.

The investigation, named Operation "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly," began after complaints of drug sales, drug trafficking and overdose cases in Henderson County, the post said. According to Hendersonville Police Chief Blair Myhand, the operation was a joint effort primarily between the Hendersonville Police, the Henderson County Sheriff's Office and the Greenville County Sheriff's Office in South Carolina.

"We are very appreciative of the Sheriff's Office commitment to help keep Hendersonville drug-free," Myhand said. "Working hand-in-hand with the Sheriff's Office really allows us to be much more effective at drug enforcement here in the city."

Seven arrest warrants were served, three in Hendersonville, three outside city limits in Henderson County and one in Greenville County, South Carolina.

Detectives located and seized quantities of heroin/fentanyl, methamphetamine, marijuana and psilocybin mushrooms. Additionally, the post said that approximately $24,285, four firearms and one vehicle was seized. Five of the "drug houses" shut down were located in Hendersonville, while the other was located in Greenville County, South Carolina.

Henry Hunt was identified as the supplier of drugs associated with the overdoses, according to the Facebook post, and was investigated to identify others associated with "Hunt's drug trafficking organization." Hunt is currently being held with a nearly $2 million bond and is charged with multiple felonies, including continuing criminal enterprise, trafficking in opium and heroin, maintaining a dwelling for controlled substance and the manufacture, sale and delivery of controlled substance within 1000 feet of a school.

The investigation is still on-going, and, according to the post, additional arrests, indictments and seizures are anticipated.

"Henderson County Sheriff Lowell Griffin and the Henderson County Drug Task Force would like to thank the Hendersonville Police Department, the Asheville Police Department, the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Drug Enforcement Administration, North Carolina Department of Revenue, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms for their assistance in Operation 'The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly,'" the Facebook post said.
