Hall of Fame announces death of former 49ers LB Dave Wilcox
49ers great Dave Wilcox died at age 80 the Pro Football Hall of Fame announced Wednesday.
Wilcox, a seven-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro linebacker, spent his entire 11-year career in San Francisco after they selected him in the third round of the 1964 NFL draft.
He went on to play in 153 of a possible 154 games in his career. He notched 14 interceptions 36.5 sacks in his career according to Pro Football Reference.
Wilcox was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2000 alongside other 49ers greats Joe Montana and Ronnie Lott.
