Guard Noah Reynolds, who has two seasons of eligibility remaining, to transfer to Wisconsin from Wyoming

MADISON – The reconstruction of Wisconsin’s roster for the 2023-2024 college basketball season continues.

Looking to add more scoring punch and versatility, the Badgers have received an oral commitment from former Wyoming guard Noah Reynolds.

Reynolds, 6-foot-3 and 195 pounds, played two seasons with the Cowboys and has two seasons of eligibility remaining. A native of Peoria, Illinois, Reynolds played in 23 games as a freshman and averaged 2.9 points and 1.0 rebound per game.

He started 10 games and played in 19 this season before sitting out because of concussions. Reynolds averaged 14.5 points and 2.2 rebounds per game this season. He hit 32.9% of his three-pointers but converted on 55.9% of his two-point attempts.

Reynolds scored double figures in 12 of 19 games last season.

His most impressive run came during a six-game stretch from Nov. 30 through Dec. 28. Reyholds hit 12 of 29 three-pointers (41.4%) and 52 of 92 shots overall (56.5%) en route to averaging 22.0 points per game.

The Cowboys faced Santa Clara, Dayton and Saint Mary’s (California) during that stretch.

Reynolds' commitment comes one day after Tyler Wahl announced he is exercising the COVID-19 option to return to UW for his fifth season.

That means the Badgers should return all five starters – Chucky Hepburn, Steven Crowl, Connor Essegian, Max Klesmit and Wahl – who combined to average 55.7 points per game this season. That was 85.3% of the team’s points.

UW so far has lost guard Jordan Davis from last season but Reynolds should provide the team with another consistent scoring threat, something the Badgers lacked this season.

Four freshmen are also set to join the program for next season: Forward Nolan Winter, forward Gus Yalden, guard John Blackwell and walk-on guard Jack Janicki. Winter, Yalden and Blackwell appear good enough to play early.
