Green Bay Packers at Detroit Lions: Predictions, picks and odds for NFL Week 12 game

The Detroit Lions (8-2) are a Thanksgiving tradition, but they've become must-see TV this season as they'll kickoff the holiday slate by hosting divisional foe Green Bay Packers (4-6).

After a four-game losing streak hurt Green Bay early in the season, the Packers are starting to show promise with two wins in its last three games, the latest coming against the Los Angeles Chargers. The defense was able to contain Justin Herbert, while the offense stepped up late in the game to get the game-winning score in the final minutes.

A miraculous comeback against the Chicago Bears has made it three straight wins for Detroit. While it wasn't the best game for the Lions, Detroit is off to its best start to a season for the first time since 1962, proof that this team is making a case to get the No. 1 seed in the playoffs.

Lorenzo Reyes: Lions 25, Packers 21

The Packers have been far better in recent weeks, covering two of their last three games. The Lions are still stronger and should take this game, but turnover concerns showed this offense can struggle, even against average defenses like Chicago’s. I hate the hook here keeping it above a touchdown.

Tyler Dragon: Lions 28, Packers 19

Jordan Love had a career-high 322 passing yards against a hapless Chargers defense. However, the Lions should pose a much stiffer challenge. Detroit’s won four straight games over Green Bay. The Lions high-powered offense has scored 72 points the last two weeks. It’s hard to imagine the Lions losing at home on their annual Thanksgiving Day game.

Safid Deen: Lions 30, Packers 16

The Packers had their best win of the season against the Chargers last week, but a lot of teams have beaten them in comeback fashion. They will be no match for the Lions, who are the most cohesive team in the NFL. Detroit wins at home on Thanksgiving.

Victoria Hernandez: Lions 28, Packers 17

The Lions handily beat the Packers in their first matchup this season — at Lambeau Field. After a thrilling back and forth with the Chargers and last week's scare against the Bears, Detroit will be eager to settle down. Aidan Hutchinson is playing strong and will ruffle Jordan Love enough to make the day a Thanksgiving feast for the Lions offense.

Jordan Mendoza: Lions 29, Packers 20

The last time these two met, Detroit jumped out to a quick start and never let off the gas pedal. At home on Thanksgiving, the rejuvenated Ford Field crowd will be rocking and make it hard on Green Bay to get a win. The game is closer than the last meeting, but Detroit pulls away for a two-score win.
