In a vote that ended Sept. 15, Dispatch.com readers selected the The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center high school Athlete of the Week for competitions that took place from before Sept. 10.

This week's winner is Granville football player Kyle Kirby.

Kirby rushed for 166 yards and four touchdowns in a 41-33 win over Heath.

Kirby received 40.2% of the vote and was followed by Centerburg golfer Avery Glenn, who received 25.1%, Pickerington North football player Preston Bowman (16.3%), Grove City Christian volleyball player Emma McCall (6.4%), Watkins Memorial football player Drew Samsal (4.7%), and Licking Valley football player Trenton Markus (4.1%).

Glenn, the runner-up, shot a school-record 31 (5-under par) against Lexington at Wyandot. This came a day after she shot a then-school-record 33 (4-under par) against Northmor at Twin Lakes. Her round included an eagle on a par-5. Her 31 ties Jeff Butler, who set the boys school record in 1999.

Bowman had five receptions for 205 yards and three touchdowns in a 39-34 win over Pickerington Central.
