Grand Forks Herald 12 players to watch in Minnesota high school volleyball

Aug. 31—GRAND FORKS — The Grand Forks Herald selected 12 players to watch in Minnesota high school volleyball ahead of the 2022 season.

The players are listed in alphabetical order.

Cassie Dahl, Badger-Greenbush-Middle River: The senior was a Minnesota all-state pick last year at setter where she had 69 kills, 41 blocks, 193 digs, 29 aces and 1,030 assists.

Riley Gust, Badger-Greenbush-Middle River: The senior was an all-Northern Lights selection as a middle hitter with 323 kills, 90 blocks, 168 digs, 23 aces and eight assists.

Paige Haack, Lake of the Woods: The senior had 200 kills and 189 digs last season in an all-conference performance.

Kinsley Hanson, Badger-Greenbush-Middle River: The senior all-conference pick as an outside hitter had 226 kills, 17 blocks, 410 digs, 34 aces and 21 assists.

Caitlyn Jacobson, Goodridge-Grygla: The senior had 277 kills, 354 digs, 35 blocks and 24 aces last year. Jacobson was also an all-state honorable mention basketball player last winter.

Briley Lingen, Thief River Falls: The senior had 140 kills last season to go along with 17 aces and 52 digs.

Chloe Olson, Lake of the Woods: The senior all-conference pick had 147 kills and 155 digs last season.

Jade Reese, Badger-Greenbush-Middle River: The senior all-conference choice had 334 kills, 59 blocks, 186 digs and 36 aces as the Gators went to the program's first state tournament.

Anya Severson, Roseau: The junior registered 257 kills, 15 blocks and 175 digs last season.

Berlyn Strege, Kittson County Central: The sophomore outside hitter recorded 245 digs and 50 aces last year for the Bearcats.

Morgan Turn, Kittson County Central: The sophomore setter finished with 421 assists, 197 digs and 38 aces as a freshman a year ago.

Katelyn Vesledahl, Fosston: The senior hitter missed all of last season with an injury but returns to boost last year's 20-win Greyhounds team that graduated standout hitter Brooklyn Ostenaa.
