Glenn layup pushes no. 7 K-State past UCF in home Big 12 win

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City native Jaelyn Glenn’s last-second layup helped seventh-ranked Kansas State get a 60-58 win over Big 12 foe UCF.

After a UCF layup tied the game at 58 with 6.6 seconds to go, Maryville native Serena Sundell found Glenn who snuck behind the defense to be wide open for the layup with 2.6 seconds left.

Glenn also tied a school record with seven steals to go along with five points.

Kansas State opened the game with an 18-10 deficit after the first quarter but gained a 27-24 lead by halftime. The lead increased to 39-30 late in the third quarter and the Wildcats went into the fourth quarter with a 46-36 lead.

The Golden Knights cut their deficit to single digits by midway through the fourth quarter and were just down 56-52 with less than two minutes to go.

Both teams shot less than 20% from three while KSU shot 55% from the free-throw line (12 for 22).

Senior Gabby Gregory led the Wildcats with 19 points while only making one of her eight three-point attempts along with seven rebounds.

Eliza Maupin backed her up, putting up a double double with 15 points and 11 rebounds.

Star center Ayoka Lee missed the game after suffering an ankle injury against Iowa State earlier in the week.

The Wildcats are fourth in the Big 12 with an 11-3 conference record while being 22-4 overall. KSU hosts West Virginia on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in one of the last four games of the regular season.
