It’s Giving Season—Help Us Support Climbing’s Worthy Causes
This article originally appeared on Climbing
It’s fair to say that each of us started climbing because we love the vertical world and everything it provides, from a breath of fresh air to lifelong friends. Climbing is by any measure an extractive sport--it gives and we take. With the holidays on us let’s show that it’s not all about us by helping the communities and organizations with financial support, so they can give back to the areas and people who enrich our lives. In spring of this year, our parent company, Outside, Inc. launched Find Your Good and partnered with 14 nonprofit organizations that share our mission to get everyone outside in support of a healthy planet. We're hoping to raise $2,500 for our two partners in the climbing space, Paradox Sports and the Access Fund, each working to bring the joys and health benefits of climbing to more communities. We need your help! See the information and links below to give back to the sport you love.
Paradox Sports
Helping the adaptive community defy convention through climbing
The goal: $2500. If we hit it, Paradox will be able to give 12 adaptive climbers full scholarships to its national climbing program, which includes two days of instruction on some of the country's best walls, including Yosemite, the Gunks and Joshua Tree.
Access Fund
Keeping climbing areas open on public and private lands
The goal: $2,500. This will protect 2.5 acres of climbing area for Access Fund's community.
