Gimme Him: One player Giants would steal from Seahawks

The New York Giants (1-2) will host the Seattle Seahawks (2-1) at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on Monday night in their fourth game of the 2023 regular season.

That, of course, provides those of us here at Giants Wire the opportunity to hypothetically steal from the Seahawks’ roster in search of depth and/or talent upgrades for Big Blue.

Truth be told, the Seattle roster isn’t overwhelmingly impressive. They have solid players and decent depth in a number of areas but precious few leap off the page. At areas of need for the Giants, there’s very little to steal.

Still, there are some tempting names. Wide receiver DK Metcalf, cornerback Tariq Woolen and safety Julian Love, ironically, are among those we considered. Ultimately, however, it’s impossible to pass on linebacker Bobby Wager.

The Giants signed Bobby Okereke earlier this offseason and have second-year linebacker Micah McFadden starting next to him, but it’s an area they could still upgrade. Wager is particularly stout against the run, which is an area the Giants continue to struggle, and he’s moderately capable in coverage.

Above all else, Wagner is a strong tackler and that’s the biggest area of weakness for this Giants defense. He would immediately step in alongside Okereke, proving better starting value while also adding to the team’s depth.

What are your thoughts, Giants fans? Would you pick Bobby Wager or would you steal an entirely different player from the Seattle Seahawks?
