Giants’ Tyrod Taylor, Tommy DeVito injured vs. Eagles

Injuries at the quarterback position have been a theme for the New York Giants all season and that trend continued on Sunday afternoon.

Midway through the first quarter, Tyrod Taylor scrambled to his right and delivered a stiff arm to a Philadelphia Eagles defender. He appeared to get his finger caught in the facemask and was in obvious discomfort.

Trainers examined Taylor on the sideline before he took a few practice throws, but he wouldn’t make it back onto the field for the next series.

Rookie Tommy DeVito replaced Taylor, who the Giants listed as questionable to return.

But the bad news didn’t end there as DeVito promptly took a few big shots before limping off to the sideline himself. Like Taylor, DeVito was examined by trainers and had his ankle tapped tightly.

With DeVito limping, the Giants went back to Taylor to start the second quarter.

If both DeVito and Taylor are forced to exit the game, the Giants elevated Jacob Eason from their practice squad prior to the game. He is considered the emergency quarterback.

Meanwhile, rookie wide receiver Jalin Hyatt suffered a hamstring injury and was listed as questionable to return.
