Roger Lewis was the only healthy wide receiver the New York Giants had after Odell Beckham Jr., Brandon Marshall, and Dwayne Harris went down with injuries in Sunday’s loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.

With Beckham, Marshall, and Harris out for the remainder of the season, the Giants needed to replenish their receiving corps.

The team re-signed Tavarres King and promoted Ed Eagan and Travis Rudolph from the practice squad. They also added Darius Powe to the practice squad.

King was with the Giants for most of the last three seasons. He scored a 41-yard touchdown in last season’s playoff loss to the Green Bay Packers. King missed most of the preseason with an ankle injury but earned a roster spot anyway. He didn’t play in the season opener and left the team the following week.

Eagan, an undrafted free agent out Northwestern (La.) State, signed late in the preseason. He was among the final cuts after the preseason but joined the Giants practice squad in Week 3.

Rudolph became a fan favorite when he befriended an autistic boy during a visit to a Tallahassee, Florida middle school. Rudolph’s father was then shot and killed a week before this year’s NFL Draft. Rudolph led the Giants with nine catches for 157 yards in the preseason but was a controversial cut after the preseason. He has been on the practice squad since clearing waivers.

Powe was also with the Giants during the preseason. He got off to a good start in training camp before he suffered a hamstring injury and was injured/waived.
