The San Franciso Giants secured ace Logan Webb for the next five years, the team announced Friday. The 26-year-old, right-handed pitcher reportedly signed a $90 million extension that will keep him on the NL West squad until 2028, according to ESPN's Jeff Passan.

The Giants chose Webb in the fourth round of the 2014 MLB Draft out of Rocklin (California) High School in a suburb of Sacramento about a two-hour drive northeast of the San Francisco area.

Webb has started 83 games since he made his MLB debut for the Giants in 2019. He went 31-19 the past four seasons, with a 3.48 ERA.

Webb became a key piece of the Giants' pitching rotation in 2021, when he started a career-high 14 games and went 11-3 with a 3.03 ERA. He followed that with a 15-9 record and 2.90 ERA in 2022 — on par with then-fellow starter Carlos Rodón, who signed a six-year, $162 million deal with the New York Yankees this past offseason.

Webb's 2023 season isn't off to a hot start, though: He's 0-3 this season with a 4.76 ERA. The Giants are toiling near the bottom half of the National League with a 5-7 record — only a half-game ahead of the Colorado Rockies.
