Giants claim Isaiah Hodgins off waivers from Bills

Another former Buffalo Bills player has joined up with the New York Giants. This time it comes via the wavier wire.

According to Giants Wire, New York plucked receiver Isaiah Hodgins off the wire on Thursday.

Earlier in the week was the 2022 NFL trade deadline. The Bills were involved in that making two deals, acquiring running back Nyheim Hines and safety Dean Marlowe.

Additionally, Buffalo moved other pieces around their roster. Cornerback Tre’Davious White was finally activated to the 53-man roster.

In making all those moves, the Bills had to find room on their for players. Hodgins was one of two cuts to do just that, and was subject to waivers.

Hodgins was a 2020 sixth-round pick of the Bills. That move happened while Giants coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen were working in Buffalo. That pair was very familiar with the wideout, which is why it’s unsurprising to see Hodgins end up being claimed.

Additionally, he’s not the first of that kind.

As the NFL goes, several former players and coaches who worked in Buffalo went on to follow the front-office duo to New York. Hodgins is just the latest.
