Georgia vs Clemson season-opener to be played in full stadium

For the first time since the 2019 season, Georgia football will play a game in a full stadium.

Carolina Panthers team president Tom Glick announced on Monday that Bank of America Stadium, home of the Panthers, will operate at full capacity this fall.

That includes Georgia’s week one matchup against Clemson in Charlotte.

“I’m happy to confirm that we will be operating here at Bank of America Stadium at full capacity and under normal circumstances for the 2021 football season,” Glick said. “It will include East Carolina-Appalachian State and Georgia-Clemson.”

Bank of America stadium holds 75,523 people when at full capacity. That’s still nearly 20,000 less than Georgia’s Sanford Stadium, but it’s a full stadium nonetheless.

Glick also mentioned that attendees will not be required to wear masks and will not need to show proof of vaccination. He also said there will be no temperature checks. Though masks are not required, they will be available for anyone who wants one.

Georgia vs Clemson is scheduled to kickoff on September 4 at 7:30 p.m. ET and will air on ABC.
