Gadsden area high school soccer: How local teams did in Elite Eight, who advanced to states

The two towns on the banks of the Coosa River, south of Gadsden, are continuing to roll in the Alabama high school soccer playoffs.

With the Elite Eight round wrapping up already Southside and Westbrook Christian boys soccer teams have punched their tickets to the Final Four next week. Guntersville, which also sits on a body of water, will been pulling double duty after both their boys and girls teams advanced to Huntsville.

Gadsden area high school girls soccer Elite Eight round up

Springville 2, Southside 1

The Lady Panthers season comes to an end at 25-2-1.

Guntersville 2, East Limestone 0

It'll be a Wildcat party in Huntsville next week as both teams advance.

Westbrook Christian vs. Jacksonville

Game to be played 6 p.m. Saturday

Gadsden area high school boys soccer Elite Eight round up

Fort Payne vs. Randolph

Game is Saturday at 7 p.m.

Southside 3, Douglas 1

The Panthers rolled in the playoffs again with a win over Douglas. Camren Thompson had another goal and an assist. Alex Mullins and Ouzeiph Toumiba added goals while Hayes Cosby made six saves.

In all, it was enough to get the Panthers to their first Final Four in program history.

Guntersville 2, Russellville 1

The highly anticipated Guntersville and Southside matchup is here after both teams handle their business.

Westbrook Christian 2, White Plains 0

The Warriors are rolling on to Huntsville and the Final Four with dreams of returning to Rainbow City with a Blue Map. JD Berndt and Ryder Megois scored goals while Ethan Daffron and Eggo Alabassi assisted.

Westminster Oak Mountain 4, Collinsville 0

The Panthers season ends at 16-6-2.

Tanner 2, Susan Moore 0

The Bulldogs season ends at 17-4-3.
